Who We Are : Quite simply, we are passionate builders. If you can imagine it, we can (probably) build it. If we can't, we'll know someone who can.

What We Do : We will undertake most things, but we really thrive with the bespoke, the unique and the weird and wonderful! Be it a made to measure kitchen with reclaimed school table worktops, a toilet with walls adorned with book pages, pallet furniture (we love a bit of upcycling), extensions, full remodelling et al.

Testimonials : Read the feedback from a few of our clients, in their own words.

Who We Are

My name is David Rendall. I am a carpenter and joiner with over 20 years’ experience working at senior management level for some very well respected high end developers and refurbishment contractors.

I formed this company in 2011 with a view to run my projects with the professionalism and momentum of the housebuilder, but the eye for detail and character I found essential in the listed property refurbishments I found myself on in later years.

I am a family man and I know the importance of relationships. I have great relationships with my existing clients, suppliers, staff and sub-contractors, and do my best to only ‘shop’ locally. Through trying and testing I’ve found the best mix of quality and value for many of our most commonly used products. My (very) local architectural ironmongery supplier just conveniently meets both these criteria, so I know I never need to look elsewhere. This is just one example of the background work that goes into providing the best for my clients.

Bespoke joinery

Our carpentry division is headed up by a gentleman who is a 5th generation furniture maker so his attention to detail is the key to our success in this area. If you have an idea, we can translate that idea into a working design. Then we can make it a reality.

Testimonials

Mr and Mrs Szucs, Hampton

After being introduced to David by a mutual friend and explaining the nightmare we had with an unfinished project, he sent us one of his carpenters. Zoltan has done a very good job with our two built-in wardrobes, we are very happy with the end result. He was accommodating to our special requests and managed to turn around a terrible situation. The wardrobes were in a very bad state after a botched job by a previous carpenter. Zoltan came in to save the day and turned them into something that is a pleasure to look at and use day-by-day. He's done the insides and the doors together with all the painting for a reasonable price and delivered the whole job in about a week end to end including all the complex work with the mirrors.

Thanks
Istvan Szucs, Hampton

Testimonials

Coenraad and Lesley van der Schroeff, Limehouse

David,
My wife and I had been looking for more than three years for someone to take on the challenge of refurbishing our plantation shutters in our apartment (flat) in London; three sets of French double doors, a window, and two narrower side windows. The shutters were USA hardwood, and manufactured in the USA some 15 years ago, but the original paint was showing its age with serious chipping and discoloration, and some minor mechanical adjustments were becoming increasingly required. Knowing by now that it would not be a simple job to remove the original paint, re-prime and repaint the shutters to a like new condition, and therefore as such, we found that few were willing to take on the challenge; after many false starts we were recommended by the Shutter Store, London to contact Cityscape Projects Ltd. Having followed up on the recommendation, a couple of days later Mr. David Rendall (Cityscape) came, assessed the condition of the shutters and offered to provide an estimate for the work.

Without a doubt a highly professional assessment and subsequent plan for doing the work, and although the cost was perhaps slightly more than we had expected the result was beyond our highest standard, or expectation. The shutters were removed from the home while we were away on business, the work was done in the time allocated and returned a couple of days after our return as planned; the re-installation was accomplished with precision, and the paint work - the object of the exercise - every bit as good as new. We were absolutely satisfied, astonished, in fact, at just how good the result. A good assessment of what the total job entailed, good planning, good workmanship and good follow-up were the essential ingredients to this fully satisfactory result.

David, thank you for your professionalism.
Coenraad

Testimonials

Herve Nourisson, Bayswater

I recently employed Cityscape to organise and oversee an entire kitchen refit - including constructing a new subfloor, and a major rewire to make it compliant with current building regulations - as well as some additional bits & bobs, like new light fittings in some of the rooms, and the installation of interconnected smoke and heat sensors. The work involved a range of skills including carpentry, plastering, electrics, tiling and plumbing.

Before selecting David for the project, I met with a number of other people and sounded them out. From the off, I was impressed with David's approach to the job. He was incredibly thorough and meticulous and at our first meeting, spent nearly 3 hrs inspecting the site and making detailed notes about my exact specifications which he spent some time discussing. Most other people I'd met had at most spent an hour doing this before hurriedly moving on to the next job. Moreover, he was very personable and easy to converse with and obviously knowledgeable about his field.

Before the project began, David produced a schedule of works, and as events unfolded, David kept me informed of any changes and was quickly responsive to my queries. I found him very straightforward to deal with and felt in good hands throughout. As with any project, there was the odd small mishap, but again, David was quick to address any issues and dealt with things in a very professional manner. It is clearly obvious that David prides himself on providing a good professional service and good quality of workmanship, and the various tradesmen he employed were all pleasant and trustworthy, and similarly personable.

The nice thing about David is that what you see is what you get. He is generous with his knowledge and happy to make suggestions and give advice. There were no nasty surprises and he was consistent throughout. His prices are competitive and the kitchen looks great. I would happily work with him again on any future project and recommend him to friends.

Best wishes,
Herve'

Testimonials

Ms C, Highgate

I originally brought in David Rendall as a project manager to strip and paint/stain the floorboards. I was very impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail so I decided to use Cityscape for the bigger project of renovating the bathroom, extending the house, restructuring and renovating the kitchen as well as decorating the house.

David was a pleasure to deal with throughout and was great at resolving any problems that (inevitably) came up during the build.
His team was professional and courteous and together they minimised any disturbance to the neighbours as much as possible.

David took a great interest in the project- getting excited when he could get exactly the right fitting for less expense or when ironing out any niggles, and he always kept me up to date on costs and developments.

My budget was quite limited for the work I wanted to get done, so to save me money, David chose to do a lot of the work himself- from digging foundations, to tiling, ironmongery and joinery work- all were done to the highest standard.

David takes pride in his work, and when that work is your house, it makes for a very happy customer.
